IVANKA TRUMP married Jared Kushner back in 2009 – but Jared’s family were initially “horrified” at the match and refused to even meet Ivanka.
Ivanka and Jared are both senior advisers to US President Donald Trump,
making them two of the most influential people in the world. However,
Jared’s position in the administration may never have come to pass if
his parents had had their way when he first started dating Ivanka.
According to 2019 book ‘Kushner Inc’, they were partly responsible for
the couple’s brief break-up in 2008.
Their concerns were mostly due to Ivanka not being in the Jewish faith, which was very important to them as a family.
Author Vicky Ward wrote: “After a year of dating, they split in April 2008, in part because Jared’ parents were horrified by the match.
“Seryl and Charlie were dismayed at the idea of their son marrying outside the faith.
“The idea was particularly offensive to Seryl, who had raised the children.
The charges were for aiding in the preparation of false tax returns, making false statements to the Federal Election Commission and retaliating against a witness, who happened to be his own sister Esther.
Mr Hammer was a trusted associate of Charlie, and he reportedly questioned his friend about his refusal to meet Ivanka.
He said: “You’re the closest people to your children of anybody that I know.
“So, what are you going to do, Charlie? Are you going to go sit shiva for your favourite child?”
