IVANKA TRUMP’s father, Donald Trump, is famous for his outlandish claims – but he is not the only one in the family to make a few exaggerations.
Ivanka
is often seen as the softer, more reasonable member of the Trump
family, but according to the 2019 book ‘Kushner Inc’, she is prone to
making some extraordinary claims too. One such claim was regarding a
deal she sealed while working in real estate. Before she was senior
adviser to the President, Ivanka worked in the Trump Organisation.
Her early projects included developments in Chicago, Panama, Dubai, Toronto and New York City.
Panama was the site of the first international Trump-branded hotel and Mr Trump’s elder daughter reportedly took the lead on the project.
She told The San Diego Union-Tribune she negotiated the terms just a week after joining her father’s organisation.
She reportedly said: “We lock ourselves in this room and it’s me sitting there, knowing squat… and across from me there are around ten men.”
The journalist also got juicy insights from Ivanka’s former mentor at the company, Russian-born businessman Felix Sater.
Mr Sater accompanied Ivanka on a trip to Moscow in 2006 in which he begged Russian President Vladimir Putin’s security to let her sit on the President’s chair.
He described Ivanka as being bright but volatile when she doesn’t get her way.
He told Ms Ward: “There was a lot of yelling back and forth.

According to author Vicky Ward, this was a “typical Trumpian exaggeration”.
She wrote: “The deal reportedly took five months to iron out.
“But her hyperbole would be the least of the project’s problems.”
The problems Ms Ward was referring to here were the allegedly “seedy overseas partners” Ivanka worked with on this project.
