Ivanka Trump
donned a chic powder blue suit to announce a nationwide expansion of
apprenticeship programs while in Alabama — a week after her father
warned the state of a nonexistent hurricane threat.
The
37-year-old first daughter hit the ground running on Tuesday with her
trip to Tanner, where she toured the Alabama Robotics Technology Park
and met with students in Toyota's Federation for Advanced Manufacturing
Education (FAME) program.
After wearing
a number of designer floral dresses in South America the week before,
Ivanka opted for a $3,100 pastel blue suit by Partow to join the leaders
of Toyota Motor North America and the National Association of
Manufacturers (NAM) at the facility. The White House senior adviser donned a simple cream shell underneath her power suit, which she paired with nude patent leather heels and a gold medallion necklace.
The suit is clear a
favorite of hers, as she wore it to speak at the Milken Institute
Global Conference in Beverly Hills in April.
When she modeled the look last spring, her hair was styled in voluminous curls, but that was not the case on Tuesday.
Instead,
Ivanka showed off her newly cut blonde bob, which framed her face. She
completed her look with smokey eye makeup and dusty rose lipstick.
Photos from the day show her touring the
facility, posing for pictures with students, and getting a firsthand
look at their robotics training.
The
first daughter joined Carolyn Lee, the executive director of the
Manufacturing Institute, and Chris Nielsen, the executive vice president
of Toyota Motor North America, on stage as he announced a partnership
to transition the operation and stewardship of the Federation for
Advanced Manufacturing Education program to the Manufacturing
Institute.
Ivanka celebrated the announcement by taking to social media to share photos from her visit to the training center.
'Incredible
day in Tanner, AL where I met several students who are participating in
cutting edge manufacturing training programs through FAME at the
Alabama Robotics Technology Park,' she wrote.
'Today,
we were also excited to announce that the National Association of
Manufacturers will be spearheading Toyota’s FAME program to expand
apprenticeship programs across the Nation!'

Ivanka also posted videos on Instagram Stories, starting with a clip of her landing in Alabama on Monday evening.
'Just
arrived Huntsville, Alabama,' she says in the short video, which she
filmed after participating in the Artificial Intelligence in Government
Summit at the White House earlier in the day.
In
another clip, Ivanka can be seen to speaking to a FAME apprentice named
Lexi, who admitted that as a foster child, she never thought she would
graduate from college.
She explained that the program allows her to go to school two days a week and work the other three as an apprentice.
Ivanka
was all smiles while she was in Alabama on Tuesday, but the day before
she flew to the state, she was mercilessly mocked online for her travel
plans thanks to her dad's 'Sharpiegate' controversy.
