Ivanka
and Jared climbed into a waiting SUV for a quick drive to the nearby
UN, where they joined the rest of the Trump siblings to watch the
president's speech
Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner look
pleased as punch to be back in the Big Apple, nearly three years after
leaving their life in New York and moving to Washington, D.C. to take on
roles in the White House.
While the
couple may well be enjoying life in the nation's capital, it's clear
they are thrilled to be spending some time in Manhattan this week in
order to attend the UN General Assembly.
Ivanka,
37, and Jared, 38, were both seen smiling from ear to ear as they left
the apartment they once called home, with the first daughter smiling and
waving for the photographers, while her husband paused to high five
their doorman on the way out of the building.
The couple were on their way to support
President Trump at the UN, where he made a speech on Tuesday morning in
front of wife Melania and his children and their wives and husbands,
with every Trump child attending apart from the first couple's son
Barron, who is still in school.
Ivanka
was dressed to the nines for the occasion, wearing a chic all-white
pantsuit that featured white lapels and a ribbon stripe down the side of
each leg.
She paired the chic look
with some black pointed-toe pumps, and she carried a black leather
Chanel tote in her right hand - leaving her left free to flash a quick
wave to the cameras as she and Jared made their way to the blacked-out
SUV waiting for them at the curb.
Jared
meanwhile stuck with his signature navy suit for the occasion, however
he added a patriotic element in the form of a bold red tie.
Clearly
keen to share his good mood with the world around him, the president's
son-in-law turned to his doorman as he made his way out of their luxury
apartment building, and offered him a handshake-turned-high five before
making his way towards the couple's waiting car.
Once at the UN, the couple joined Ivanka's
siblings and in-laws in supporting the president, with the pair seen
sitting side-by-side and holding hands, wearing much more somber
expressions as Trump proceeded to attack Iran and China in his speech.
All
four Trump children and their respective partners looked very serious
as they watched the president deliver a blistering attack on Iran and
China, telling world leaders and a global audience that the Islamist
nation's 'bloodlust' and Beijing's trade manipulations are testing his
patience.
President Trump added that
nationalism must overrule globalism as people assert their rights;
globalism has 'exerted a religious pull over past leaders, causing them
to ignore their own national interests,' he said.
Trump
adopted an uncharacteristically dour, plodding tone – a State
Department source said afterward that it was to accommodate translators
working in dozens of languages – that robbed from his usual
fire-and-brimstone approach to diplomacy, and may well have accounted
for the serious expressions on his children's faces.
However,
less than an hour after the speech came to an end, Ivanka arrived back
at her apartment with a much happier look on her face - with the first
daughter remaining at the property for just a matter of minutes before
she left once again, no doubt bound for another UN event.
