(17 Apr 2019) Ivanka Trump, the US President Donald Trump's senior adviser and daughter, said on Wednesday that her father asked her if she was interested in taking the job of World Bank chief but she passed on it.
In an exclusive interview with The Associated Press in Abidjan in the Ivory Coast, Trump said the president raised the job with her as "a question" and she told him she was "happy with the work" she's doing. Trump said that she had "no cause to be concerned" about the full Mueller report on election interference being made public.
The White House senior adviser said she had always known there was no collusion between her father's presidential campaign and Russia.
Trump also said that she wants to continue her work to "advance the role of women" in Africa "and beyond".
She added the US's "commitment to Africa is clear" despite her father's previous disparaging remarks about the continent. As well as the Ivory Coast, Trump has also visited Ethiopia as part of a four-day trip on behalf of a White House project intended to economically empower 50 million women in developing countries by 2025.
