Ivanka Trump, an adviser to U.S. President Donald Trump, attended a business innovations award ceremony in The Hague, Wednesday, June 5, to honor entrepreneurs tackling development issues such as energy, water, connectivity and health.
Trump talked about a U.S. government initiative she is spearheading, the White House's Women's Global Development and Prosperity Initiative, which seeks to advance global women's economic empowerment. In a panel discussion with Mastercard CEO Ajay Banga, she said the project seeks to reach 50 million women by 2025, and improve women entrepreneurs' access to education, markets and networks, and urges leading economies to join in the effort.
