IVANKA TRUMP attended a traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony at Dumoro Coffee shop in Ethiopia today, on the first leg of her four-day tour of Africa.
Ivanka Trump, the daughter of and adviser to the US President Donald Trump, was pictured in Ethiopia, Africa this morning. The 37-year-old’s first visit was to the Dumoro Coffee shop in Addis Ababa. During the outing, she met with Ethiopian women representing the coffee industry. Here, they discussed the empowerment of women in the Ethiopian coffee industry.
On her four-day tour of the continent, Ivanka will next head to Ivory Coast.
She has made the trip in order to promote the Women's Global Development and Prosperity (W-GDP), which launched in February.
The initiative aims to train women across the world, in a bid to help them to get well-paying jobs.
The gender pay gap is evident in facts and figures released by U.N. Women.
Globally, the gender wage gap is estimated to be 23 per cent.
U.N. Women explain this means that women earn just 77 per cent of what men earn, however it goes on to reveal that this is in fact understated, as it does not include the date of self-employment - something which is prevalent in developing countries.
