Ivanka Trump is on a roll in her campaign to win pledges from American companies to train workers for well-paying jobs.
In her latest stop this week, President Trump’s daughter and the face of his Pledge to America’s Workers initiative, she won a promise to help train 1 million new salesmen and women.
It came during a visit to Salesforce, the cloud-based customer management system, during which CEO Marc Benioff doubled his plan to provide training for 500,000.
“Salesforce is proud to sign the Pledge to America’s Workers and help people of every background learn the skills they need to find their place in the digital economy," he said.
Trump, who has traveled the country to collect pledges from companies, said, “In today’s thriving economy we must aim for inclusive growth by creating pathways for all Americans to get the tools and skills they need for rewarding careers. As jobs evolve it is incumbent on companies to invest in their current and future workers.”
To Benioff, she said, “We applaud Salesforce for their visionary approach to online learning through their Trailhead program and for generously committing today to provide 1,000,000 individuals with new training opportunities through the White House’s Pledge to America’s Workers.”
So far 220 companies have made the pledge to help 8,958,074 potential workers.
