Ivanka Trump will visit Saleforce's Indianapolis offices Thursday to promote a White House workforce initiative that the San Francisco-based tech company will sign onto with a commitment to training and reskilling initiatives.
The daughter of President Donald Trump and senior White House adviser will take part in a panel conversation in Salesforce Tower with Marc Benioff, Salesforce's chairman, co-CEO and founder, according to White House officials.
Salesforce will join more than 200 companies and organizations that have pledged to create millions of jobs as part of the Pledge to America’s Workers, an initiative born of an executive order President Trump signed last summer to expand programs that educate, train and reskill American workers from high-school age to near-retirement.
Salesforce will also spotlight several people during Ivanka Trump's visit who have improved their careers with the company through a free online learning platform people can use to gain tech skills.
“Salesforce is proud to sign the Pledge to America’s Workers and help people of every background learn the skills they need to find their place in the digital economy," Benioff said in a statement.
Benioff participated in the first roundtable that President Trump hosted on workforce development and apprenticeship expansion about two years ago.
Salesforce previously announced plans to hire more than 800 people in downtown Indianapolis by 2021 and invest $40 million over 10 years as part of its expansion.
The company has a sizable footprint in the tallest building in Indianapolis, which in 2017 was renamed Salesforce Tower.
